Marie Salinas led the way in the final results of the Racine USBC Women's Bowling Association City Tournament at Plaza Bowling Center.
In the tournament that concluded April 26, Salinas had a women's national honor series of 706 in Class 1 singles and won the handicap event with a total of 772. Salinas also finished second in handicap all-events at 2,124.
Renae Repta won Class 1 handicap all-events at 2,151. Shaina Keehan won the scratch event at 1,962.
Kaaren Bowman and Jo Ann Nelson edged Jenny Kirkorian and Jodi Gatzke by four pins to win Class 1 handicap doubles at 1,464. Kirkorian and Gatzke had the high scratch total of 1,286.
Skipper Buds (Coree Brunnelson, Betsey Arvai, Heather Pron, Connie Peasley) won Class 1 handicap team event at 2,766 and Paradise Lanes (Rose Heether, Nancy Jeter, Georgette Albert, Maureen Oates) won Class 1 scratch team event at 2,484.
In Class 2, Helen Swanson won two handicap titles, taking doubles with Norma Woodward at 1,453 and tying Bev Radtke in singles at 716. Sarah Wensing won handicap all-events at 2,111 and Coal Miners (Shirley Raechel, Jessie Nelson, Brenda Schoenfuss) won team event at 2,691.
In Class 2 scratch, Bowman and Nelson added a team title with Spare None (1,957), which also included Elena Kopecky and Barb Orre; Repta and Shirley Kitelinger won doubles (1,090); Liz Gengozian won singles (529); and Pam Longo won all-events (1,571).
n The RWBA annual meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20 at Paradise Lanes, 6501 Washington Ave. Awards and prize checks will be given out at that time.
RYBA CITY TOURNAMENT: In the Racine USBC Youth Bowling Association City Tournament at Plaza, which also concluded April 26, Gutterball (Jesse Kintop, Andy Sharp, Mike Lewis, Brianna Nelson) came in during the final weekend and won the Class 1 team title at 2,857, beating previous leader Paradise Rebels by four pins.
Sharp added the Class 1 all-events title, totaling 2,191.
Cody Lawson and Tyler Nelson won the doubles titl e at 1,497 and Cody Dustman won the Class 1 singles title at 745.
Anthony Kenyon's 300 game the first weekend of the tournament was the high scratch game. Jeffery Smith had the high scratch series at 719 and Demetrius Polk had the high scratch all-events score of 1,933.
In Class 2, Scott Brau Jr. had a solid tournament, winning handicap all-events at 1,631 and rolling the tournament-high scratch game (235), scratch series (587) and scratch all-events total (1,550).
Also winning titles were Angels of Paradise (Morgan Brooks, Megan Groth, Camryn Amos, Kerri Warner) in team event (1,846), Josh Netzinger and Jorge Lopez in doubles (1,055) and Seth Sanchez in singles (570)
* The RYBA annual meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at Paradise Lanes, 6501 Washington Ave. Awards will be given out at that time.
WSBA SENIOR TOURNAMENT: The 28th annual Wisconsin State Bowling Association Senior Championships at Clintonville and Shawano concluded April 26 and three Racine bowler claimed titles.
Tom Catrine won age 75-and-older handicap singles at 745, Bill Lister won 60-64 handicap singles at 790 and Shaunte Stills won 55-59 handicap all-events at 2,260.
In addition, Richard Dale of Racine was second in 75-and-older handicap all-events at 2,111, Dale and Thomas Finn of Racine took fourth in handicap doubles at 1,502 and James Olson of Burlington took third in 65-69 all-events (2,259) and fourth in age 65-69 handicap singles (786).

WSBA STATE TOURNAMENT: After action through May 3 at the 107th annual Wisconsin State Bowling Association State Tournament in Green Bay, a new Racine County entry joined
Michael Patrenets of Franksville in the No. 2 spot.
I'm Good II of Union Grove moved into second place in Division 1 team event with a total of 3,592. Patrenets remained second in Division 2 all-events at 1,961.
Other county entries in the top five are Towne & Country Lanes #1 of Burlington, fourth in scratch team event (3,460) and Robert Schoenfuss of Union Grove and Chris Webb of Franksville, fourth in Division 1 scratch doubles (1,475).

WYBA STATE TOURNAMENT: Two Racine bowlers cleaned up at the Wisconsin USBC Youth Bowling Association State Tournament at Wausau, which ended April 26.
Collin Balcer and Justan Lemke won the Class 2 doubles title and combined for three other top-five finishes.
The two totaled 1,370 in doubles to win by 19 pins and Balcer added a second title by winning Class 2 singles at 733. Lemke was second in Class 2 all-events at 2,033, one pin out of first place, and was also fifth in Class 2 singles at 682.
Three teams from the Southern Lakes USBC Youth Bowling Association, which includes Burlington and Waterford, also finished in the top five. River City Lanes 7 of Waterford took third in Class 2 team event (2,411), Towne & Country 16 was fourth in scratch team event (2,525) and River City Lanes 5 of Waterford was fourth in Class 5 team event (1,708).

WWBA STATE TOURNAMENT: In results through May 3 at the Wisconsin Women's Bowling Association State Tournament in Milwaukee, the Racine trio of Jenny Wonders, Georgette Albert and Nancy Jeter remained 1-2-3 in scratch all-events.
Wonders leads at 2,125 (738 team event, 705 doubles, 682 singles), Albert has 2,091 (744, 660, 687) and Jeter has 2,057 (720-661-676).
Wonders' and Kris Cashmore's team, Racine Amusement.com, was knocked out of the lead in scratch team event (2,616) by Hammer/Riviera Lanes of Milwaukee (2,643).
Other Racine County bowlers in the top five in the scratch categories are Jill Albrecht of Wind Lake, second in scratch singles (738) and Sandra Doebereiner and Mary Zywiec of Racine, fourth in Division 2 doubles (1,585).

USBC OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS: As you might expect, no one has challenged Ron Vokes at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships in Las Vegas through early this week.
He leads Regular all-events with his record 2,321 pinfall and Lennie Boresch Jr. of Kenosha is second at 2,223. Vokes leads Regular singles at 857 and Steven Malik of Racine is tied for eighth in Regular singles at 772.
Boresch's Linds Limited team still leads Regular team event at 3,449 and team all-events at 10,372 and Boresch and Steve Brinkman of Sussex are fifth in Regular doubles at 1,446.
Don Novak of Waterford is tied for 22nd in Classified singles (625).

USBC WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIPS: At the United States Bowling Congress Women's Championships in Reno, Nev., five Racine County entries are in the top 50 through early this week.
The highest placing is still Colleen Groth of Racine, who is tied for 16th in Division 2 singles at 576. Racine USBC Women's Bowling Association secretary Joan Rennert and her daughter, Marie Salinas, are 28th in Division 1 doubles at 1,099; Dorothy Lipp of Racine is tied for 43rd in Division 4 singles at 444; Jill Albrecht of Wind Lake and Gina Daroszewski of West Allis are 49th in Classic doubles at 1,204 and Albrecht and Daroszewski's High Roller team (Carol Gianotti, Wendy Macpherson and Marliss Tapp) is 30th in Classic team event at 2,912.
