Bong State Recreation Area
The Richard Bong State Recreation Area in Brighton offers the following naturalist programs. A vehicle entrance fee ($7 daily; $25 annual state residents) is required to attend all programs. Saturday, June 20, Leather Treasure Boxes, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Make a great little round leather box to store your treasures. Sewing or lacing experience helpful. Space is limited, please call (262) 878-5600 or stop at the Entrance Station to pre-register. For ages 10 to adult; adults must accompany children. Fee is $5 and is payable at the door. Meet at the Visitor Center.
Saturday, June 20: Celebrate the Solstice, 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Learn how others have celebrated the solstice through the years, then do some of your own celebrating as you hike. Meet at the Amphitheater.
Saturday, June 27: Scales and Slime, 11 a.m. to noon. Wear old shoes to stomp in the swamp in search of reptiles and amphibians. Be prepared to drive. Meet at the Visitor Center.
Saturday, June 27: Evening Observations, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Visit the wetland and see what changes are happening as the water drains. Listen and look for birds and animals. A drop-in program. Meet at the Observation Platform.
Little John's Archery league
Little John's Archery is offering a hunters league shoot at Little John's Clubhouse, 3617 Hwy. 31. The league runs 10 weeks, starting June 23. Cost is $50 per shooter. There is an end-of-season banquet Sept. 1. For more information on the league, please call Fred Manske at (262) 639-3848.
Bob Uecker Great Lakes Fishing Invitational
The 14th Annual Bob Uecker Great Lakes Fishing Invitational, a fundraiser for the Make-W-Wish Foundtion of Wisconsin, will be held June 26-27. Headquarters for the event is Reefpoint Marina on the Christopher Columbus Causeway in Racine. Fishing will take place from 6 a.m. to noon each day. The tournament features a guaranteed prize purse of $35,000 for places 1-10. More than 40 boats will compete on Lake Michigan for the $15,000 first prize. Bob Uecker, the radio voice of the Milwaukee Brewers, will be on hand both days and will be at the awards ceremony June 27. Through the generosity of sponsors Mark and Debbie Attanasio, MillerCoors, the Canning Foundation, Usinger's Sausage and the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club, the Uecker Invitational has raised more than $500,000 to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Wakeboard Tour stop at Pleasant Prairie
The high-flying, rail-sliding, water-sports action of the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour is headed to Pleasant Prairie June 19-21 for the second stop of the 2009 season. The three-day event, held on the waters of Lake Andrea at Prairie Springs Park, features the top pro wakeboarders from around the world competing for cash, points and pride by performing rail tricks and aerial stunts, while being towed on the water behind a boat at a speed of approximately 25 mph.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets may be purchased at the gate on event dates for $10 (general admission) or $5 (ages 6-12). Children 5 and under will be admitted free. To purchase tickets online, log on to www.allisports.com
