The Carthage College women's soccer team continued its fine start Saturday, beating Loras College 4-1 in a nonconference match at Art Keller Field on the Carthage campus in Kenosha.
Shannon Chesna scored in the 12th minute, assisted by Maria Korosis, to give the Lady Reds a 1-0 lead, but Loras tied the match three minutes later.
Debbie Kozlowski put Carthage (4-0) ahead to stay one minute after Loras' goal off a through ball from Erica Faden.
Jackie Peterson made it 3-1 one minute after Koslowski's goal, then Peterson added another insurance goal in the 53rd minute. Both of Peterson's goals were unassisted.
Carthage has outscored its first four opponents 21-1.
Loras had nine shots on goal to the Lady Reds' eight, but Carthage goalkeeper Lindsey Bollman made four saves.
Men's soccer
CARTHAGE: The Red Men scored first, but Loras scored two second-half goals for a 2-1 nonconference victory at Art Keller Field in Kenosha.
Brian Santella's first goal of the season in the third minute put Carthage (1-2-1) ahead, but Matt Pucci scored for Loras (3-0-1) at 47:41 to tie the match and Miguel Bonilla scored the eventual game-winner at 59:59 unassisted.
The Duhawks outshot the Red Men 20-9 in the match, including 15-5 in the second half, and Carthage goalkeeper Andrew Connor made 11 saves.
Women's volleyball
UW-PARKSIDE: The Rangers won the first game, but Saint Joseph's rallied for a 28-30, 30-27, 30-27, 30-19 victory in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match in the DeSimone Gymnasium in Somers.
Parkside had a hitting percentage of .216 in the first game, but hit .115, .080 and .188 in the next three.
Jacqui Brandenburg led the Rangers (6-2, 0-2 GLVC) with 14 kills and former Horlick High School standout Jennifer Johnson had 13 kills. Katie Krohn had 49 assists and Jackie Nehls led the defense with 32 digs.
Sara Cramer had 22 kills for Saint Joseph's (6-4, 1-1).
