Karen Jackson of Carthage College earned all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors with a sixth-place finish Saturday at the CCIW Cross Country Championships at Maxwell Park in Bloomington, Ill.
Jackson finished the 6K race in 23:25.96. Marisa Mele of Elmhurst won the race in 22:31.31.
Megan Johnson of Carthage also earned all-conference honors by placing 12th in 24:01.61. Laura Pearson was 18th in 24:19.60.
Wheaton College won its eighth conference title with a score of 41.
Carthage was fifth with 113 points.
In the men's race, North Central won its 41st conference championship and its 34th in a row with 37 points, 25 points ahead of second-place Wheaton College.
The Carthage men were fifth with 114 points.
Michael White earned all-CCIW honors with a fourth-place finish in 25:26.12. Michael Bubolz was 23rd in 26:27.97 and Justin Sebens was 33rd in 27:00.47.
Brandon Mull of Wheaton won the 8K race in 25:02.49.
Women's volleyball
CARTHAGE: The fifth-ranked Lady Reds went 3-1 at the Wittenberg University Fall Classic Friday and Saturday at Springfield, Ohio.
Carthage split a pair of matches Friday, losing to second-ranked Juniata College 30-25, 30-25, 30-25, but sweeping the University of Dallas 30-19, 30-18, 30-26.
On Saturday, Carthage (28-4) beat Cedarville College 26-30, 30-28, 33-31, 30-20, then beat Carnegie Mellon 30-21, 30-27, 30-19.
Carthage last week clinched its fourth straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) title and seventh overall. The Lady Reds will play host to North Park at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a play-in match for the CCIW Women's
Tournament.
Men's soccer
CARTHAGE: The Red Men clinched the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin title outright with a 2-1 victory over Illinois Wesleyan at Bloomington, Ill. Carthage (14-4-2) has the top seed in the CCIW men's tournament and will play host to fourth-seeded Wheaton College at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Art Keller Field on the Carthage campus in Kenosha.
Women's soccer
CARTHAGE: The Lady Reds clinched their fourth straight berth in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women's soccer tournament, playing Illinois Wesleyan to a 0-0 tie in double overtime Saturday at Bloomington, Ill.
The second-seeded Lady Reds (14-3-1) will host third-seeded Augustana at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Art Keller Field on the Carthage campus in Kenosha.
