Three members of the UW-Parkside softball team have been honored on the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team. Junior first baseman Lisa Casey and sophomore outfielder Christine Holthus earned second-team honors and senior outfielder Amanda Miller was a third-team choice.
Casey hit .339 (39-for-115) with five homers and 20 RBIs. Holthus hit .308 (37-for-120) with a homer and 13 RBIs. And Miller hit .321 (35-for-109) with five homers and 27 RBIs.
Parkside went 17-19 overall and 9-11 in the GLVC.
The University of Indianapolis' Megan Russell was named Player of the Year and Missouri-St. Louis' Allyson DeFosset was named Pitcher of the Year.
Russell, a senior designated player, hit .346 with 46 RBIs, 27 runs scored, 14 homers, eight doubles and a .743 slugging percentage. DeFossett, a senior, has a 20-4 record with six saves. She leads the GLVC with an 0.56 earned run average and struck out 257 in 34 appearances.
