Rich Tock, the head professional at Ozaukee Country Club, overcame a two-shot first-round deficit to win the Wisconsin State Golf Association Senior Championship.
Tock shot a 3-under-par 69 Tuesday, missing just one green in regulation, for a 143 total and six-stroke victory in the two-day tournament at Northwood Golf Course in Rhinelander.
The victory was worth $1,180 for Tock, who highlighted his round with a hole-in-one on the par-3 15th hole.
Dan Buckley of host Northwood was second at 149 (76-73) and won $870 and first-round leader Doug Sheldon, a PGA Life Member, shot 78 Tuesday and tied Larry Tiziani of Cherokee Country Club for third place. Sheldon and Tiziani each won $585.
Tock, Buckley and Tiziani have qualified for the Senior PGA Professional National Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Tom Befera, a PGA Life Member and the former pro at Kenosha Country Club, shot 83-80—163 and finished in a tie for 12th place.
WSGA PATER-FILIUS CHAMPIONSHIP: Kai and Tyler Kamakian of Racine, members of H.F. Johnson Park, combined on a 6-over-par 78 Tuesday to tie for 17th place and the top finish by Racine County golfers in the low gross amateur division of the WSGA Pater-Filius (Father-Son) Championship at The Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake.
Peter and Kevin Swanson of Sheboygan (Pine Hills C.C.) shot 1-over-par 73 and beat three other pairs at 73 on the Woodlands Course for the championship of the low gross amateurs division.
Tim and Kyle Murphy of Eau Claire, Brian and Michael Murphy of Madison and Christopher and Drew Hurley of Madison tied for second at 73.
Ian and John Statz of Beaver Dam (Washington County Golf Club) won the low gross open division with a 7-over-par 79, beating Daniel and Michael Schield of Neillsville and Andy and Mark Hansen of Mequon, who also shot 79s.
Bruce Duerr of Franklin, a member of the Racine Country Club, and Joseph
Duerr of West Allis, a member of Whitnall Park Golf Club, won the net championship with a 6-under 66 total on the Links Course.
Two Racine County pairs finished among the top 10 in the net division. Joe Arvai and Joe Arvai III, members of Ives Grove Golf Links, tied John Knuteson
(Racine Country Club) and John K. Knuteson (H.F. Johnson Park) for eighth place at 2-under 70.
