The Racine Threat put it all together Saturday night.

The Threat, behind a stout defense and potent offense, defeated the Northern Illinois Cowboys 21-0 in a Mid-States Football League game at Ameche Field in Kenosha.

The Threat's first score came on a 1-yard run by quarterback Ben Adrian, a former Park High School standout, with 1 minute, 51 seconds left in the second quarter.

Adrian's touchdown capped a four-play, 80-yard drive. T.J. Hearn kicked the extra point to give the Threat a 7-0 advantage.

The Threat widened the margin to 14-0 in the third quarter, when Adrian found wide receiver Mike Pottinger for a 5-yard touchdown pass.

That touchdown culminated an eight-play, 65-yard drive.

The Threat added an insurance touchdown with 1:54 remaining in the game. Backup quarterback Lukas Avila and Jermaine Sorensen combined on a 27-yard scoring strike.

Adrian completed 10-of-19 passes for 211 yards. Greg Sanders, a former Park star, led the Threat's rushing attack with 103 yards on 20 carries.

Sorensen caught five passes for 159 yards.

The Threat's defense was led by defensive lineman Mike Doyle, who had a team-leading seven tackles.

The Threat, who improved to 2-1 in MSFL, will play the Kankakee Plowmen August 1 at Ameche Field.
