Former Prairie School standout Dominic Maio, a recent Milwaukee School of Engineering graduate, won the fifth annual UW-Parkside Summer Cross Country Classic held Saturday on the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course on the Parkside campus in Somers.

Maio, of Racine, covered the 5-kilometers race in 16:24.3. Kyle Moss of Milwaukee was second in 16:55.1, followed by Joe Dixon of Milwaukee in 16:59.1, Sebastian Vanoudenallen of Wauwatosa in 17:33.7 and Horlick High School standout Johnny Binzak in 17:42.0.

Marya Haegler of Cascade was the top female finisher. Haegler was 13th overall, finishing in 20:02.1. Abigail Bullmore of Kenosha was the next female finisher, placing 19th in 20:45.6.
