Hitters Baseball Academy opening Nov. 27

The Hitters Baseball Academy, at 4726 6 Mile Rd. in Caledonia, will be open Friday, Nov. 27 for all-you-can-hit for $10 per person. Ages 9 to 12 can hit from 9 a.m. to noon and ages 13-18 can hit from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the Academy at (262) 456-1423.

Players ages 7 to 10 have camp from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and ages 11 to 13 have camp from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost is $40. Southport Volleyball Club looking for players

The newly-formed Southport Volleyball Club for boys ages 12-18 is looking to form at least three teams for its first year; one for ages 12-14, another for ages 15-16 and one for ages 17-18. Final decisions will be based on the number at tryouts, which will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28-29, at Carthage College.

Raytown Volleyball tryouts

The Raytown Volleyball Club will hold tryouts for boys ages 14-16 from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 22 in the John R. Belden Fieldhouse at Horlick High School, 2119 Rapids Drive. * Raytown Volleyball Club has openings for its Girls 13's team. This is an introductory level team that will compete in six regional tournaments. The season runs from Dec. 1 through March. Participants must turn 13 after Sept. 1, 2009 (typically 7th grade). No tryout is necessary. The cost is $600. Racine Night at the Admirals

Racine Night at the Admirals will be held Saturday, March 13 when the Admirals host the Toronto Marlies in a 7 p.m. game at the Bradley Center in Milwaukeee. There is a limited supply of lower-level tickets available for Racine Night. Ticket prices are $16 for adults and $11 for youths ages 12 and under. The game will serve as a fundraiser for Racine groups. The Admirals will donate $4 from every adult ticket and $2 from every youth ticket sold back to each organization. For more information, call Vince Grabowski at (262) 930-3471. Checks should be made payable to Racine Night at the Admirals. Ticket sales end Friday, March 5.

Hitmen U14 baseball team seeks players

The Hitmen U14 baseball team is looking for players for the 2010 season. The Hitmen compete at a tournament level during the spring and summer. Next season, the Hitmen will compete in approximately 12 tournaments. The Hitmen will begin winter practice in February at the Hitter's Academy on 6 Mile Road in Caledonia. The Hitmen's goal is to provide student athletes with the knowledge and ability to play early on in high school and to participate at an elite level during their high school travel seasons. To be eligible, players must be 14 or younger as of May 1, 2010. If you are interested in trying out for the team, please contact Sam Langley at (262) 497-2144.

RBA City Tournament

Entry blanks for the 100th running of the RBA City Tournament, which will run Jan. 9 thru Feb. 7, 2010 at Plaza Bowling Center (team event) and Old Settlers Bowling Center in Union Grove (singles and doubles), are available at all Racine bowling centers and at Old Settlers. In honor of the 100th running of the city tournament, Plaza Bowling Center will donate $500 to the highest handicap team comprised of all Plaza certified league bowlers. Old Settlers will also do the same for the highest handicap team comprised of all Old Settlers certified league bowlers. The RBA is also looking at a special promotion to be announced. New this year to the tournament is optional all-events for seniors age 60 and over. Seniors 60 and over may enter regular all-events and senior all-events.

Harlem Globetrotters New Year's Eve show

Tickets for the Harlem Globetrotters' New Year's Eve shows at the Bradley Center in downtown Milwaukee will go on sale Oct. 21. In their 84th consecutive season, the Harlem Globetrotters 2010 World Tour stop in Milwaukee will feature shows at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31.
