This year's Hook Race featured a lot of excitement as three boats battled to the end and finished just six
seconds apart after times were corrected.
Rogue, skippered by Peter Engel, won the race that
began Saturday at the Racine Yacht Club and finished Sunday at M&M Yacht Club in Menominee, Mich., in a corrected time of 34 hours, 52 minutes and 16 seconds.
The winning time was the fastest in the race since 2007, when Sirocco won in 34:03.36.
Syrena, skippered by Nicholas Hayes, was a close
second with a corrected time of 34:55.51. Syrena won the race in 2004 and 2005.
Finishing third was 2006 champion Tango in Blue, skippered by Rick Triscoe, which finished in a corrected time of 34:58.37.
Taking fourth was Thunder, a double-handed boat skippered by Stuart Keys that finished in 38:35.00, and Zapada, skippered by Brian Van Wieren, was fifth in 40:18.47.
