Hitmen U14 baseball team seeks players
The Hitmen U14 baseball team is looking for players for the 2010 season. The Hitmen compete at a tournament level during the spring and summer. Next season, the Hitmen will compete in approximately 12 tournaments. The Hitmen will begin winter practice in February at the Hitter's Academy on 6 Mile Road in Caledonia. The Hitmen's goal is to provide student athletes with the knowledge and ability to play early on in high school and to participate at an elite level during their high school travel seasons. To be eligible, players must be 14 or younger as of May 1, 2010. If you are interested in trying out for the team, please contact Sam Langley at (262) 497-2144.
Golden Touch Basketball Academy camps
The Golden Touch Basketball Academy camps will be held in Racine County at three locations.
The camps are open to boys and girls in grades 1-8. Sessions are split in two groups: grades 1-4 and grades 5-8.
The camp sites and dates are as follows:

Prairie triple threat basketball camp
The Prairie School's 2009 preseason triple threat basketball camp will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 in the Johnson Athletic Center on the Prairie School campus in Wind Point.
The camp is open to boys and girls in grades 7-12 and will feature Cuba City High School and Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame coach Jerry Petitgoue (ballhandling and full-court drills), former UW-Oshkosh and Waupaca coach and former University of Wisconsin standout Tim Locom (how to become a better shooter) and Prairie athletic trainer and strength coach Keith Owsley (basketball conditioning and flex bands).
Coaches are welcome to attend. Registration is $25 in advance, $30 day of clinic and $15 for coaches (pay at the door).

Optimist basketball clinic
The City of Racine Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is offering an Optimist Youth Hoops Basketball clinic for youths in grades 2-8 Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Cesar Chavez Community Center, 2221 Douglas Ave. Clinic hours are 10 a.m. to noon. The clinic will stress basic basketball skills in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. Cost of the clinic is $10 and includes a T-shirt. Space is limited and reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration deadline is Thursday, Nov. 5. Harlem Globetrotters New Year's Eve show
Tickets for the Harlem Globetrotters' New Year's Eve shows at the Bradley Center in downtown Milwaukee will go on sale Oct. 21. In their 84th consecutive season, the Harlem Globetrotters 2010 World Tour stop in Milwaukee will feature shows at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31.
